Scoping for central system migration

Veraz expects to fulfill, in a short term, the migration of its central system applications over an Oracle 10G Database, in a way that ensures that the technology responds to its business’ current and future needs, and expecting a reengineering of its Central Application in the future.

VERAZ hired a Scoping Service of its Central Application to generate its documentation in order to face this problematic. This will allow them to face both the Migration process and, in the future, its own reengineering.

Epidata Consulting’s responsibilities are:

• Work with and Oracle database in order to identify and obtain dependencies between DB objects (packages, procedures, functions, tables, triggers).
• Enterprise Architect documentation.
• Specific Reports.

The project included an internal Enterprise Architect data model study to insert DB objects and dependencies between them; because of this, we were able to represent more useful aspects of the model in the documentation.
